31 Jan ANGEE W. In Action: Rainbow + Henry in Hong Kong
When I first met Rainbow, she came across as a woman who thrives for perfection. Nothing is left to the chances but she so effortlessly fills her life with happy moments in her career as well as her personal life. As a professional in events management (and more!), Rainbow’s own wedding is indeed a highly well orchestrated event!
From the traditional Chinese bridal dress in the morning and the tailor made ivory tulle wedding gown for the afternoon church reception, to the beautiful gowns at the evening banquet, every outfit is coordinated with accessories that add glamour, sparkles, and personality.
Rainbow — thank you for inviting me to your wedding reception. It was the touching words said at your wedding reception that reminded me of my own obligations to my husband, my family and to myself — thus the decision of quitting my day job to concentration on what I love doing at ANGEE W.! I guess love is indeed contagious. 🙂
Here’s a little background of Rainbow and Henry’s big day. If you are currently planning your own traditional or semi-traditional wedding with a Chinese and Western element, we hope Rainbow’s sharing will give you some inspiration in the planning of your big day.
Happy Reading!

Theme and accent colours of your wedding:
In terms of colours, we had White & Green for Church Ceremony and Purple, Red & Gold for Banquet. Theme is “Vive L’amour”.
Music your chose for your first dance:
We didn’t have a first dance but a “first duet” of “Something Stupid”
Your flowers for the venue:
Lowdi Kwan Concepts – she’s the maestro of all the flowers I carried on the day. I had 4 bouquets by the way…
Any memorable moments you would share?
When Henry played on the piano and sang the song he composed – it was just too moving.
Why did you choose to carry a clutch bag at your wedding?
Because it’s just very CHIC!
Can you tell us about your decision to present a clutch bag to your bridal party?
My bridesmaids have VERY different personality. That’s why I preferred them not to be in the same bridesmaid dresses instead, I wanted them to feel comfortable wearing something that is of their own style. I also wanted to give them a memento of my big day, which they could use together on the same day. That’s why the ANGEE W. bags were in place. The clutches gave a very special touch to the girls when they carry them around – gorgeous and they just love them!
Tell us about your dress:
I have always wanted my own wedding gown and I have decided to have it tailor made on the first day of wedding gown hunt! I love my dress and have chosen one in tulle from Berfa Wedding. I especially love the cut and the detachable train.
What did you like about your ANGEE W. bag?
Elegance x Chic!
What did you not like about your ANGEE W. bag?
…… really nothing….
One tip you would give to brides-to-be?
1. Have your own style – don’t follow the trend!
2. I did not hire a wedding planner but instead engaged with different vendors to work on different parts of my big day. One useful tip is that you have to choose the right partners to work with – you don’t have to go for the most famous/ expensive ones! Talk to them, let them know your wishes and choose the ones you can work comfortably with! A lot of my vendors eventually became my friends!
3. Remember, planning wedding is always a happy/ fun thing! Sometimes it can be frustrating but don’t forget to relax, smile and keep your spirit up! After all, it’s an once-in-a-life time experience!
